Class Overview

The Senior Fitness classes last an hour and incorporate light to medium cardio activity, strength-building and balance exercises, and plenty of toning and stretching. Workouts start with about 5 minutes of warming up from head to toe, and end with 5-10 minutes of cool down stretching to enhance flexibility. Exercise sets have timed intervals and provide a full-body workout. The class is designed primarily for “mature folks”, who may be a little more cautious when it comes to physical exercise, but still want to get a good work out. There are always modifications that can make an exercise easier or harder and allow you to protect any areas that are injured or, well, you know, a little “gently used”. We use light weights, small kettle bells, different sizes of balls, bands, and even bosus to keep the exercises from being boring, and classes change every day. Best of all, we play great music from the “good old days”!

STUDIO OVERVIEW

FLEX offers 24 different stations that comprise its circuit workout. FLEX also has a cardio room featuring the latest elliptical trainers, treadmills, rowers and stationary bikes. The back training studio has free weights, bench/squat racks, cable cross TRX, BOSU, boxing heavy bag, medicine balls, battle ropes, step platforms, resistance bands, kettle bells, dumbbells and a lot more. Classes include Yoga, Pilates, Interval Training, Boxing, TRX, Yoga, Pilates, Senior Fitness, and Zumba. FLEX is a great place to do your own thing in your quest for a stronger and leaner you.
