Class Overview

The best of both classes in one, Mat (Think mat-based pilates with the intensity turned up a notch. In this 45 minute mat-based format, we'll use dynamic muscle movements to target deep within while bursts of cardio leave you sweaty and your heart racing.) and Spin (No rankings, no metrics- just you going as hard as the music pushes you. You'll find speed and resistance, separately and sometimes together, all the while getting lost in the music. Give yourself 45 minutes to turn your brain off and let your body move.)

Know before you go

  • PARKING - There is a lot right in front of the studio - tell us your license plate so we can validate your parking! Parking also available on 2nd street or across E Cesar Chavez in the neighborhood.
  • WHAT TO WEAR - Whatever your most comfortable working out in! For the mat class, you can either wear grippy socks or take class barefoot.
  • WHAT TO BRING - Water :) We have a station for you to fill up if needed!
  • Mat:  BYO-yoga mat. If you forget your yoga mat, you can rent one for $3
  • Spin: Bikes service SPD clips. If you do not have your own shoes, you can rent them for $3.
  • LATE ARRIVAL - For the safety and respect of everyone, please arrive on time. No one will be permitted into class 5 minutes after start. 

STUDIO OVERVIEW

Grit ATX is a local, female-owned and instructed fitness studio that offers fun, sweaty, and rhythm-based classes. They believe there's not just one way to work out and having variety in your fitness plan is important, which is why they alternate every other day between their signature mat class and a rhythm-based spin class. They believe it's more important that you feel the change first before you can see the change. Their MAT class is a 45-minute, rhythm-based, strength-focused class where they take on new challenges every day combining barre, pilates and HIIT elements all together. Then switch over to their SPIN class, where they don't measure anything but how much fun it is to move to the music. Or even better, try the 60-minute MAT & SPIN class where they combine the two signature classes into one!
