Class Overview

Reformer Fundamentals is great if this is your first time trying Pilates and want to understand the Pilates principles as a whole and how the equipment works. This class will provide you with the necessary foundations of Pilates equipment workouts. You will get a great workout with easy to follow choreography as well as safe and user friendly transitions. You will learn equipment settings and spring resistance customized to your body for your Reformer workout. Your instructor will show you how to position your body for optimum results and intensity. Your instructor will also help you determine any props or modifications that may suit you best for each exercise to progress at your own pace free of strain and through proper use of muscles. This class is for any fitness level since you can vary resistance and settings for more or less intensity. Expect to stretch throughout each exercise series. Be patient with yourself as you learn how to benefit from this remarkable piece of equipment - it can take up to 10 sessions to fully understand proper form and alignment. Reformer workouts make you feel elongated, graceful and free of joint strain - and our Balanced Body machines are the best in the Pilates industry.

Know before you go

  • Mat classes are being held at Lynx Fitness Club
  • Sticky socks required for all Equipment Classes (available for purchase)
  • Please arrive early for class - you will not be admitted into class after 10 minutes.
  • You must have completed at least 5 Reformer 101 classes at Boston Body Pilates in order to book "All Levels" equipment classes. Email info@fitreserve.com if completed.
