Class Overview

Reformer 101 gives you a great workout with easy to follow choreography.  You will learn equipment settings and spring resistance for Reformer workout.  Also your instructor will show you how to position your body for optimum results and intensity.  This class is for any fitness level since you can vary resistance and settings for more or less intensity.  Expect to stretch throughout each exercise series.  Be patient with yourself as you learn how to benefit from this remarkable piece of equipment - it can take up to 10 sessions to fully understand proper form and alignment.   Reformer workouts make you feel elongated, graceful and free of joint strain - and our Balanced Body machines are the best in the Pilates industry.    This class will prepare you for Reformer All Levels  - but expect to take a few months of 101 before you are ready for All Levels.  101 is also a favorite of all levels who want basic moves and a great workout.   Choose one of our different formats if:For high energy, music and more "burn" choose Boston Body Barre or Remixx classes.For calm and serene with more upper body and resistance choose Sculpt with Props.  Calm and serene focusing predominantly on abdominals and core with added glutes and thighs - choose Pilates Mat. Group classes are not recommended for anyone with serious joint pain or physical limitations without a doctor's clearance. Pre Natal - Pilates Reformer is well suited for pre and post natal.  However if you are new to Reformer please start with a one on one private session - a group class does not provide the individualized attention you will need to modify body positions and settings. You will need special props (ask instructor) and modifications since much of the Reformer work is lying on your back or stomach.

Know before you go

  • Mat classes are being held at Lynx Fitness Club
  • Sticky socks required for all Equipment Classes (available for purchase)
  • Please arrive early for class - you will not be admitted into class after 10 minutes.
  • You must have completed at least 5 Reformer 101 classes at Boston Body Pilates in order to book "All Levels" equipment classes. Email info@fitreserve.com if completed.
