Types of classes offered? Reforming Indy Pilates Studio offers two programs: one based on Pilates apparatus, including Group Reformer, Group Apparatus, Feel Good Reformer, and Pilates Reformer Flow & Chair classes; and the second which we refer to as "Fitness", which began with 5 TRX suspension training classes and now includes Ballet Barre Fusion and Ashtanga Yoga classes. In total we offer approximately 75 classes a week.
What makes Reforming Indy Pilates Studio unique? First and foremost, our staff; the instructors are ALL among the most experienced and educated instructors in Indianapolis and they all have amazing energy and passion for what they do. Second, I would say our constant drive to be better; we are continuously looking to make sure we provide the best Pilates experience anywhere in the country. Third, I’m sure our clients would mention our studio itself but there is a whole team of people working to bring that space to life day in and day out!
Advice for first-timers? If you are new to Pilates, you first need to learn that it takes time and you need to be consistent. We always recommend new clients start with private instruction. Any new clients trying classes for the first time would be encouraged not to try and compete, but instead learn from those around them and be present in the moment.
Favorite things to do in Indianapolis? Spending time on the Monon Trail or with friends at Detour American Grille & Bar, both would rank among the top 5 !
Your fitness advice for clients? Your health and well-being take time and effort to improve but it is way more valuable than money or materials. A healthy spine and strong core are fundamental elements of a healthy body and are the central goal of Pilates…. You are in the right place.
Did you know? Founded in 2007 by Kristen Abbott, Reforming Indy quickly became one of Indiana’s most respected studios, having been voted the best Pilates studio in Indianapolis for the past six years in a row! In 2011 as we relocated into a much larger space, incorporated TRX suspension training, massage therapy and became a certifying studio for Balanced Body, a highly respected Pilates educator. We are expanding again in the next six months to make our current space even larger and will almost double the number of classes we offer.
