Taking a balanced mind-body approach to fitness, JK Zen Fitness focuses on constant improvement, learning and expansion of the body’s potential. Through a diverse range of private, semi-private and small group Reformer Pilates classes, students work on both strength and cardio development, all while gaining a greater understanding of their bodies. Don’t be fooled by the peaceful interior of the chic Beverly Hills studio, though: the road to unleashing the body’s potential can be a core-burning, sweaty one at JK Zen Fitness!

Location: Beverly Hills, CA

Founder: Juliette Kaska

Classes Offered: Reformer Foundation, Pure Pilates Reformer (levels 1 and 2), Pure Pilates Level 1: Endurance, Reformer Burn (levels 1 and 2), Reformer Burn Level 2 Core & Cardio, Reformer Burn Level 2 Booty, along with private classes, semi-private classes and Pilates Beginner Bootcamp series.

Why You Should Check It Out: If you prefer to hide in the back of a group class, JK Zen Fitness may not be the workout for you. For those looking to improve on their form and technique, however, the small group classes are perfect for receiving lots of personal attention!

“For people who are looking for real Pilates, that’s our niche,” says studio manager Laura Hartman, adding that all of the instructors are certified through the Pilates Technique certification program.

“We also understand that there are a lot of people who want to feel the burn and the sweat, so we have our ‘Pilates Reformer Burn’ series too.”

That series, offered at levels 1 and 2, adds to Pure Pilates with props, such as hand weights, ankle weights and jumpboards.

Know Before You Go: The studio is found in a building largely occupied by medical suites, but is clearly marked on the 8th floor in suite 807. Parking is available underneath the building at a discounted rate of $2 with validation.

Advice for first timers: Hone your basics with either a Level 1 or Foundation series class before moving on to advanced classes. For an intensive jumpstart to JK Zen Pilates, consider the eight class Pilates Boot Camp series, which is taught at the level of a Foundation class, but each class builds upon the last and you’re with the same people the whole time.
