Why you should check it out: Think of it as a youth elixir for your body-- a way to feel better for years to come! All of the instructors at Pilates Back Bay are passionate about these movement methods and strive to empower clients to feel the same while getting in the best shape of their lives. They truly want clients to get the most out of their Pilates workout and not feel like they are lost in a group class.

What makes it such an effective workout? Beyond the usual benefits of Pilates (core strength, lean muscles, increased flexibility, better posture), the instructors at Pilates Back Bay pay special attention to the goal of improved alignment and in turn injury rehabilitation and prevention brought on by sports, exercise, and day-to-day life.

“I’ve had new clients come in with existing injuries and tell me they feel better after just a few sessions,” says Fredricks.

Know before you go: Sign up before you go, as space is limited. Group classes are limited to three and four participants.

Parking in Back Bay can be a pain. There is metered parking and you may find a spot if you’re lucky, but head over early. Garage parking is also available nearby. The studio is right near the Arlington stop on the green line T.

Advice for first-timers:  "New to Pilates? We recommend doing a few private sessons before joining a group class as you will need to know some exercises and transitions as well as how to use the equipment,” says Fredricks.
